MUSIC MASCOTS

Music Mascots Archive is a project resulting from Giovanni Bonassi 's master's thesis for the Faculty of Communication Design at the Milan Polytechnic, under the supervision of Professor Francesco Ermanno Guida. The thesis, discussed in July 2024, deals with the origin, history and concept of mascots as a branding tool, embedded in visual communication for music design. This archive aims to map the phenomenon of musical mascots, defining which cases fall under the given definition, and providing a useful categorization to analyze this practice. This collection starts from a research, summarized on the relevant page of this site, which is certainly partial and not exhaustive. You can download the entire thesis pdf at this link to explore this topic further. In case you have questions, corrections, advice, or mascots that have not yet been reported, you can write to this email . This archive aims to build a piece of collective knowledge about the phenomenon of music mascots, every contribution is precious. Thanks to the almighty Michele Volonghi for building this website.
