The enigmatic, alleged mascot of Black Sabbath, Henry, has been a figure that, on and off, has accompanied the band throughout its history. He is almost as mysterious as the unknown woman who stands out on the cover of the debut album. Many fans believe a 1975 concert flyer depicts the first appearance of Henry, a winged creature that some interpret to be an angel while others see her as a demon.
On BLACK SABBATH’s official twitter profile, a photo of a flyer dated August 26, 1975 was, in fact, shared that multiple sources said would have depicted for the first time “Henry,” the mascot that at alternating times over the years has appeared several times on the band’s albums, singles and merchandise. It was the publicity flyer for a show held by the band at the El Paso County Coliseum less than a month after the release of the “Sabotage” album.
