K.I.L.R.O.Y. (Kingsley Ivan Lamarck Rodrigo Othello Youngblood) often written as Kilroy, is the hype man in The Protomen. His name is a reference to the “Kilroy was here” phenomenon as well as the album Kilroy Was Here by the band Styx. Joining the band in 2005, Kilroy is credited for fist pumps, hand claps, armourer, sledgehammer, maracas and jarana. He can be described as a stage character, as he appears in the Light Up the Night music video as a narrative character, and he gives in-universe speeches during live performances that connect the canon from the band’s albums to the real world.

Ever since his debut, Kilroy has become the typical opener for every live performance The Protomen play. He begins every show with a shared dialogue between himself and the audience. He engages with banter and encourages rally cries to hype the crowd. Kilroy is known to sometimes use humor and profanity to entertain the crowd. He then leaves the stage as the band begins, or stays depending on which song is first in the setlist.
