‘Although I never wanted to show you, now your time has come’. So writes Medy Cartier in a letter to his old friend K7, an anthropomorphic bear with a mortified expression and (it seems) a passion for rap. In recent weeks, the mascot has been seen around Italy but also in Marseille, mostly in the company of Medy’s fellow rappers.
After all, ‘treat my fans as if they were your own’ wrote Medy, and K7 didn’t let it be repeated. K7 exists with the explicit intention of entertaining, but in reality, the purpose of his travels is a little more precise: in fact he is taking Medy’s music on the road to make a video clip for a song, ‘Ti Ricordi Di Noi’.
During his tour, K7 didn’t miss a chance to be photographed at concerts by Kid Yugi, Niky Savage, Artie 5ive and Villabanks, as well as at the Nameless Festival. But he also went shopping at Moschino’s and attended Medy’s trial in Rome a few weeks ago.
It was for this trial that Medy had been temporarily transferred to Rebibbia from Bologna’s Dozza. The trapper was arrested in mid-March for robbery and bodily harm, crimes committed when he was only fifteen years old but for which he still had five years and 20 days to serve. Moreover, on that occasion, the court refused Medy’s request to be allowed out of prison to work on his musical projects, but the artist did not lose heart and played the K7 card.
