Quiet Riot’s ‘Metal Health’ became the first metal record to top the ‘Billboard’ 200 charts and while the songs are more than worth their legendary status, the band surely had a little help from their mascot. The Man With the Iron Mask not only graces the cover of the album, trapped in an asylum in a red straightjacket, but he also appeared in the title track’s music video, which was an instant hit. ‘Condition Critical’ arrived the following year, demonstrating Quiet Riot’s hero had fared no better, lying on a stretcher, though he managed to escape the confines of the straightjacket.
