Rich Ciolino is an alien costume created by the famous Italian effects artist Leonardo Cruciano for rapper Ghali’s participation in Sanremo 2024. In the song ‘Casa Mia’ Ghali tries to explain to an alien how very distant worlds should be able to dialogue despite their differences. The topic is linked to the complex situation between Israel and Palestine in the months leading up to the Sanremo festival. Ghali has openly spoken out against the ongoing genocide in various television appearances, using Rich Ciolino’s expedient to emphasise the importance of dialogue between peoples and the desire for peace.
